The brief
Energise Me belongs to a national network of Active Partnerships. They exist to beat inactivity, inspiring people to adopt active lifestyles that make communities happier, healthier and stronger.
They provide support funding and access to activities and sport for people of all ages. Energise Me rebranded from Sport Hampshire in 2015 and we worked with the communications team to deliver a simple interface to a complex and content heavy site. In 2020 we were asked to update the website again to support the organisational changes and new strategic focus.

We started with a detailed site map and wireframing stage to plan the refreshed structure and design. The website had become heavy with information and this was an opportunity to restructure the content in line with the new strategic focus of the organisation and target this at the right audiences. The main emphasis of the refresh was to make sure it was designed for mobile first. We updated the design to be cleaner and by balancing this with full width images, to make the information clear and engaging.
The site is populated and updated regularly by the Energise Me team and is rich with information and signposting. This required a flexible design and structure so we made sure that the website was built in a modular way.
The Energise Me website needed to be accessible and we made sure that this followed and adhered to WCAG AA guidance.
The services we delivered for the website refresh and update included:
Door 22 helped us create a website that is fresh, accessible and mobile-friendly. Joe and Emma handled every challenge we threw at them with patience, humour, and creativity. We’re delighted with the results.
