The brief
Rethink, a charity that believes a better life is possible for the millions of people affected by mental illness, needed an event idea, event name and mass participation event identity for their first own branded fundraising event.
Our brief was to come up with a charity mass participation event concept. An event that would appeal to the audience of the charity, the people they support, their family and friends. It needed to be accessible and an event that has a good shelf life and one that could be a national event as well as be adopted by people to arrange their own, whenever and wherever they liked. The fundraising event needed to be in line with the values of the organisation and also be recognisable as a Rethink Mental Illness event aligned with their brand guidelines.
Our solution
We created the concept and name Walky Talky. A 5k walking event that would encourage talking whilst walking, both of which are key tools for mental health. Walky Talky not only describes the activity but a ‘walkie-talkie’ device only allows one-way communication, meaning you can either talk or listen and not do both together. This encapsulates the ethos and backbone to Rethink and its response to mental illness.
The services we delivered for this charity event included:
We are a relatively small fundraising organisation, so it was nice to be taken seriously. The initial ideas for our event were fabulous and the final designs we absolutely love. There is no doubt that the work Door 22 have put in will boost the success of our event massively.
